Sofia’s wedding in Amsterdam
The brief
Sofia, who has Mexican roots, wanted her wedding dinner to reflect the flavours she grew up with—vibrant, bold, soulful—while still matching the refined, intimate atmosphere of a small church in Amsterdam. She wanted her guests to feel welcomed, surprised and delighted throughout the day.
Caliente was invited to bring authentic Mexican taste to a sophisticated European setting.
The experience
Guests were greeted with sparkling wine and elegant small bites—tostadas with smoked mackerel and chipotle, and a roasted aubergine tostada with jalapeño hummus.
The tone for the day was immediately set: bright flavours, stylish presentation, and genuine hospitality.
A refined start
The first course was individually served ceviche—classic or vegan—combining citrus, freshness and colour. Light, elegant, and a perfect conversation starter at the tables.
Shared dining that brought people together
For the main course, the tables were filled with wooden boards of warm, comforting Mexican dishes:
- Taco Birria
- Arepas with chicken or mushrooms
- Chile Relleno
- Mexican tomato rice and black beans
Finished with salsas verde & roja and plenty of fresh lime.
Guests shared, tasted, compared and talked—exactly the lively, communal atmosphere the couple hoped for.
Cocktails, cake & celebration
Our bar served refreshing agua frescas, wine, beers and signature cocktails like the Margarita and Paloma, which quickly became crowd favourites.
After the wedding cake and coffee service, the evening continued with Dutch-style snacks and freshly baked pizzas—a fun, casual touch that kept the energy high until late.Caliente was invited to bring authentic Mexican taste to a sophisticated European setting.
